Today we looked back at the marks we have previously made with watercolours and we used a black pen to find pictures within our work! Some lovely imagination today everyone!
Today we looked at our new text in English - “Oliver’s Vegetables.’ We had a discussion about vegetables and listed lots of different vegetables and spoke about what they taste like. We then used potatoes to do some printing with paint.
Today in Science we continued to think about our senses. We were thinking about our sense of smell. We smelt five different things; garlic, coffee, oranges, black pepper and mint. The children then had to decide which item had the strongest smell and which had the weakest smell. Some of the children liked the things they smelt but some didn’t!
As part of our new topic we tasted some fruit and vegetables in class today. We thought about what they looked like and felt like and then had a go at tasting them. We talked about how to keep safe when using knives and the teacher modelled how to cut the fruit.
