DT - Tasting fruit and veg

As part of our new topic we tasted some fruit and vegetables in class today. 

We thought about what they looked like and felt like and then had a go at tasting them. 

We talked about how to keep safe when using knives and the teacher modelled how to cut the fruit.

Science - Comparing materials

This week in Science we compared some materials. We were tying to work out which were the most absorbent. We tested paper, sponge, tissue and cloth. Before our experiment the children made good predictions and tried to explain why they thought that material would be the most absorbent.  We then put the materials in pots of water and left them for two minutes. We took them out to see which pot had the least amount of water in them. Some children were surprised to find out that the tissue was the most absorbent.
