Art - Drawing Birds

Today we started our new topic- Sculpture and birds. 

We looked at some videos of different birds and looked at the shapes, sizes, patterns and texture. 

We looked at lots of photographs of birds and had a go at drawing different parts of birds. Trying really hard to get the right shape and patterns.

Science - Comparing materials

This week in Science we compared some materials. We were tying to work out which were the most absorbent. We tested paper, sponge, tissue and cloth. Before our experiment the children made good predictions and tried to explain why they thought that material would be the most absorbent.  We then put the materials in pots of water and left them for two minutes. We took them out to see which pot had the least amount of water in them. Some children were surprised to find out that the tissue was the most absorbent.
